She Had Three Daughters

February 07, 2018

She had three daughters faith, grace and passion. She was a different mother to each of us. We are children born out of her experiences and where she was at that point in her life. We came to express for her what she most needed at that time. Not that all of her children didn’t receive graces of the other two but, she gave us each the strongest portion of her spirit at the moment when she grew us. Like an alchemist conjuring up the individual needed most for that section of her life.

The first was born of her innocence, unwavering beliefs, sometimes loud, out spoken and well educated. This was her time of awakening to her faith. When it came to matters of faith Mama had opinions. Her first was an “in the flesh” manifestation of her code of ethics. Her obligation to loyalty and fidelity. She named her “oath of God” her music and faith resides here with her eldest.

The second was born of her growing inner power. A new coming of age full of grace, strength and creativity... sometimes surprising. Her victory over swaying with what life had faced her.  What she need to swim up stream. She was born of her Mama’s independence.  Given an inherent capacity to manifest energy, to endure, and to resist. Her strength resides in her middle child.

Her third daughter a powerful emotion, a risk she took to express her ardent love with all that entails.  Just the word Passion has so many depths of meaning from a physical manifestation of love to the sufferings of Christ. Pure truth no chance to hide, her physical beauty, expressiveness, passion and joy reside in her youngest.

She saw each child as a gift of God on loan that would have for answer in the end. Mama is not gone because she left behind a portion of her spirit in three distinctly separate and entwined graces. If you understand you can read her daughters like the book of her life.
